Large and very elegant torso of a standing Buddha. This torso was excavated by Jules Barthoux, member of the famous DAFA, in Bagh Gaï, a large Buddhst complex near the site of Hadda, north-east of Kabul. Part of this excavation can be seen in the Musée Guimet in Paris, where also a reconstruction of the stupa, where this standing Buddha also served as decoration, can be seen.
